    How does it work?

During treatment, the Z Wave system is held to the targeted treatment area, and begins to emit the radiotherapy waves beneath the surface of skin. The energy waves then work to penetrate and target underlying layers of stubborn fat cells that cause the appearance of cellulite. The energy waves pressurize and break down the gas bubbles located between fat cells, while also destroying problem the fat cells.     Because this procedure has required no forms of anesthesia, no incisions, and no downtime, there is very little preparation that is required. We recommend that patients stay hydrated before and after their treatment as it will help to facilitate the best results. It is also important that patients maintain a healthy diet and exercise regimen to ensure the body is working at it’s best.

    Recovery

    After the Z Wave treatment, patients will be able to return to their daily routines immediately. There is no downtime whatsoever and patients will feel little to no discomfort. We do recommend that patients walk immediately after the treatment to enhance lymphatic drainage.
    If patients experience any redness or warmth, this is completely normal and will dissipate within one to two hours following their treatment.

      Z Wave has a very low risk of side effects, and your provider will discuss any with you in detail before your procedure. You may find that your skin is slightly red and warm to the touch following treatment, but you should experience no pain.

    • What areas of the face and body can be treated with Exilis? *

      Small areas needing skin tightening or small amounts of body contouring are best suited for Exilis treatment. Frequently treated areas on the body include the abdomen, thighs, arms, knees, and neck. A more superficial treatment head of Exilis, called Protégé Elite, is used to treat crepiness on the face including around the eyes and lower face.

    • Will I need to change my lifestyle or follow a defined diet?

      Z Wave will help you achieve aesthetic improvement regardless of your lifestyle. You will not be required to exercise or alter your dietary habits. However, the treatment results give you a head start to a better looking body. Most patients feel motivated to take care of themselves better when the procedure is over.

    • Can I combine Exilis with other procedures? *

      Yes. Exilis is an excellent complement to Ultraformer 3, a robust ultrasound device used as a nonsurgical alternative to deeper tissue tightening. Exilis may also be combined with Protégé Elite during the same treatment, another radiofrequency device that best targets crepey, superficial skin changes. Patients that have undergone liposuction may also benefit from a series of Exilis treatments following surgery to encourage further skin tightening and enhance the body contouring effects of liposculpture. Typically, botulinum toxin injections such as Botox, Xeomin or Dysport are avoided on the same day of treatment. Fillers such as Juvederm or Sculptra are best completed at separate visits. However, other aesthetician services and some laser or light-based procedures such as IPL or Pico/Excel-V may be completed on the same day.
